Grace was referred to a ENT specialist last May, and we were told she needed to have her tonsils taken out. Well, her name finally came to the top of the waiting list yesterday and the deed has been done. We had to be at the University Hospital by 7:30am for her procedure time of 9:30am. Matt took the day off work and I took Grace and Gideon with me. I actually went right into the OR with Grace and they worked pretty quickly to put in an IV and had her under quite quickly. The surgery lasted about 45min with about a 45min recovery time. They observed her for 3 hours and then we were sent home! Things have definitely changed since I had my tonsils out! Grace is doing well. It was a bit of a rough night, and she was crying at 2:30am that she wanted her tonsils back. Tylenol and Popsicles are her best friends right now. I can see that it will be a long week though. The doctor wanted Grace to stay home for a week and go on antibiotics as she had a bit of a cold and her lungs were full of "junk". We are hoping she gets better sooner rather than later. She is already missing her friends and school. With next week being spring break - it will be a while before she gets to do that again. Here's hoping the next two weeks don't drive me to the loony bin!
Getting changed into her lovely jammies!
Just waiting for her turn...
Not quite so chipper, but doing well.

Poor Grace............she looks so little all cuddled up on the couch! I hope she is back to herself super quick and that you survive having everyone home for so long :)
I read that and it reminded me of some of the reasons I do not like the socialist medical care!!!
Now that the states have passed theirs I'm not sure what will happen!
I am very glad she is doing well. I hope she continues to recover well. Hang in there!!!
Hope you feel better soon, Gracie girl!! :O)
