My two little bread bakers

It is a very interesting thing to make bread with two little toddlers helping you every step of the way!

They both had a great time helping though!

I think this may become a more common occurance around here!

Oh, Sarah....

Our little Sarah has done it again.  Actually we are amazed that we have had such a nice little break (haha, no pun intended...) from any major catastrophe's in our family for almost a whole year!  Sarah broke that streak (haha again... ; )) when she broke her arm this week.  We were visiting Mary Lou out in Cardston and Sarah took it upon herself to try to get into a cupboard that had a child lock on it.  Her arm got wrenched in there and somehow ended up with a small buckle fracture.  I guess the silver lining was that we were in Cardston and that it only took us 1 1/2 hours at the ER to have her seen, x-rayed and casted.  She only has to have the cast on for a couple of weeks, though she is pretty tired of it already.  The morning after she came to me and said, "It doesn't hurt anymore.  You can take it off now."  Gotta love her!!

Preschool!!

I wasn't planning on putting Sarah in preschool this fall, but then a few things changed my mind.  I found out that we would qualify for a subsidy, making the reason of cost not an issue any more.  Also, I realized about a week into the school year that I really didn't understand how much Sarah loves to play with her sisters and with them gone all day, she was coming up short with just me to play with!  Gideon sleeps every day for a couple of hours, and those couple of hours were pushing both Sarah and I to our limits!  We found an awesome preschool just a few blocks away and now Sarah goes two afternoons a week.  She is loving having something to keep her busy and I am really appreciating 2 hours of quiet time while she is at school and Gid is napping.  This wasn't her first day at preschool, but it was a day that she looked pretty cute and I remembered my camera!

We are closing in!  We still have to install the microwave, put in a backsplash, and then some trim and paint, but we are definitely getting closer to being DONE!!

My Brand New Solid Maple Custom Made KITCHEN!!

 Just a quick reminder of what our kitchen looked like before......

We started the renovations about a month ago and yesterday this is where we were at.

 This morning before my parents got to my house I built this step -- all by myself!!  The old step was not centered and so Matt and I took it out and then I rebuilt this step for the new opening.

The trailer has arrived!!

I am so THRILLED to see this all come together.  We are getting new lino installed this week and then we have some trim that will go in.  We still have to get the sink, dishwasher and microwave installed, but I already really do LOVE my new kitchen!!!

Almost there!!!

 There is finally a light at the end of the tunnel!  Mom came in yesterday and helped us put our subfloor in and our drywaller should be done by tomorrow or the next day and then I can prime the walls over the weekend.  Mom and Dad are just about finished making the countertops and should be just about ready to start installing by Monday!!!  Whatever renovation bug I caught has been irradicated from me and I will be very glad to have this done and start enjoying my new kitchen!!

Another year older and wiser too.....

 It is Matt's birthday today and this year he is 37!!  I have been priviledged to know and love this man for 10 years and I love him more every day.  Matt has a lot of mischief in him and loves to have fun and play jokes on people.  He loves to laugh and play with his kids and enjoys playing games with anybody.  Matt can make my blood boil and my heart melt all at the same time, and I wouldn't want to be with anybody else!  Love you Matty!!

WOW!!!

 I can not believe how BEAUTIFUL my kitchen is going to be!!!  Mom and Dad have done an AMAZING job and I am so EXICTED to have my new kitchen in a few weeks.  We have finally found a drywaller that will come and do the mudding and taping this week and I am trying to make a decision on the flooring that will go in.  There is a light at the end of the tunnel though and pretty soon, I will have the most amazing kitchen!
