More summer stuff....

We have been having a lot of fun this summer. From making ice cream, different crafts and just fun family pictures. Just thought we would share some of those with all of you!

Hatch Family Reunion in Gordondale

This past weekend we went to Gordondale for a family reunion. We couldn't leave until Matt got off work at 5pm on Friday, so I got the kids and the van all loaded up and we picked him up at work since we had to head out that way anyway. We arrived at about 11pm just as the rain was starting again. We had driven through quite a bit of rain and were hoping that it wasn't raining where we were going, but no such luck. We were lucky in the fact that Thomas took our tent up for us when he left earlier and put it up for us though. Our canvas roof rack let in a bit of rain though and we had some soggy sleeping bags in spots. What an adventure!! We found the dry spots and managed to get our kids to sleep. The next day was beautiful!! We had awesome weather all day until about supper time when it started raining again. It rained until it was time to light the fireworks and didn't rain all night. Just as we were about to get up it started raining again for a couple of hours though. We were all pretty soggy and dirty, but the kids had a great time. Matt's uncle Kelly brought some harnesses for a rope pull that the kids (and adults) all had a blast on. There were lots of cousins and toys and dogs and other animals that kept everyone pretty busy. It was a fun reunion!

As kids hear it...

I had to laugh the other day when I heard Rebecca singing a song that she had learned in primary.

The words are:
"Jesus came to John the Baptist, in Judea long ago."

What she heard and what she is now singing is:
"Jesus came to John the Baptist in Ikea long ago."

Hahahaha! I guess we go to Ikea a little too often!!

Haircut Triplets

Last night Grace decided that she wanted to have her hair cut. I am not very good at cutting hair, but I figured I could wing it and so I sat her down did the deed. Before I was done with her, Anna decided that she wanted her hair cut like Grace's too, so she jumped up on the chair next. Then Rebecca wanted to be like her sisters and after an hour of cutting hair, I had three little haircut triplets! It should make brushing hair easier this summer anyway!

Parks and Puppets

I absolutely LOVE summertime!! I love not having to rush around in the morning. I love not having to make lunches. I love not having such a strict schedule. I love going to parks for picnics. I love spending time with my kids!! So far this summer we have done exactly this. I just thought I would put up a few pictures of time at a park for Canada Day and doing crafts with my kids.

The kids had lots of fun making puppets from styrofoam balls, pipe cleaner, pom poms and googly eyes!
