Anyone need a hairdresser?

I often get the girls to play “hairdresser” on Sunday mornings – I can get a few things done and they are kept busy and their hair gets done too.   This was the scene on Sunday morning – they convinced their Dad that he needed to have his hair done too.  What a good sport! ;)

Grade 5 Graduation

Grace is graduating from elementary school this year.  I am not terribly excited that our kids have to start middle school for Grade Six, but what can you do.  It’s hard to let them grown up.  This is Grace with some of her classmates showing off their certificates.
 
Grace was a patroller this year and this is the group of patrollers that worked so hard to keep all the other kids safe crossing the roads.  They are very necessary – Grace had a couple close calls this year with some crazy drivers!

Coming up in September, I will have Brendan in Grade 11 at the high school, Grace will be in Grade 6 at the middle school, Anna will be in Grade 4, Rebecca in Grade 3, and Sarah in Kindergarten at the elementary school, and Gideon will be back at the preschool.  4 different schools, with 4 different start times – should be fun!

Rain and Mud

We have had some crazy weather lately, and the kids were begging to go play in the rain one night.  I was more interested in watching the front of the house where we can get some flooding, and didn’t pay too much attention to what they were doing in the back yard.  Apparantly they were having quite a bit of fun…..

We threw all three older girls in the tub just to get the worst of the mud off – they all had to take showers after too!  Pretty gross water!

WCHS Color Run

Brendan participated in his school’s first annual Color Run.  I ran to the corner just as they were about to start and snapped a couple of shots of the color going up in the air.  Brendan came home pretty dirty, but I think he had a great time!
 

Preschool Graduation

I just love how special our preschool makes their graduation ceremonies for these little students.  Gideon was pretty proud to be “graduating”, though he will be back in the fall for another year.

I don’t know what we would have done without Gideon’s special friend, Christine.  She was Gideon’s aide for the year and they became really good friends.  She really helped make this year go so smoothly for him!

This was Sarah’s final year at the preschool and she had such a great time with Teacher Freddie.


She is pretty excited to be heading to kindergarten this fall!
